Curtis invented Instagram?!

Jamie Lee Curtis was sending Instagram-type photo-messages long before that social site was launched in 2010.

Curtis tells Entertainment Weekly her blog, iphoneys (www.iphoneys.blogspot.com/), was really the first to employ the concept. Curtis and her friends swapped images and messages on the site all the time, says the Scream Queens star.

"Funny enough, really the day that Instagram was announced is the day that they stop," Curtis says, "because as soon as that was available, that's all we did."

The 'Daily Show' is ready

The Daily Show's new host, Trevor Noah, is ready to relaunch his version of the Comedy Central talk show, premiering Monday. He's even finalized guests for his first week back.

"The first episode will be a reintroduction of the show," Noah, 31, tells Rolling Stone.

"But you can't just go off one episode like, 'Oh I know what this is about, I know what this is.' It takes a lot more time."

The South African comic, who is taking over from American genius Jon Stewart, says he wants to take his time building something strong.

"You're building a relationship. So what we're doing is dividing the first week into a four-part mini-series that will set the tone for what we hope the show will be."

Right, but what about those first-week guests?

Kevin Hart will be Noah's first guest on Monday, followed by Tinder co-founder Whitney Wolfe on Tuesday. The four-day week will end with GOP presidential candidate Gov. Christie on Wednesday and rocker Ryan Adams on Thursday. Adams plans to perform a song from his Taylor Swift cover album.

Princely charity

Royal brothers Prince William and Prince Harry were out and about Wednesday at a construction site in Manchester. Sporting hardhats, the boys joined hosts of BBC's homebuilding reality show DIY SOS to lend a hand to a charity renovation project. They were joined by hundreds of volunteers.

Reports indicate William painted a kitchen wall with a long roller. The bearded Harry was seen heaving around paving stones for a garden walkway.

Kensington Palace says the event was designed to draw attention to the challenges troops face in resuming their lives back home after a tour of duty. Both princes have served in the military.

The creative edge

We've all heard about rock bands that rely on whiskey, pot, or something harder to supply songwriting inspiration.

British dance music act Disclosure uses a whole other drug.

"A good supply of tea and biscuits is essential," the band's Howard Lawrence, 21, tells USA Today. "It's so important to an Englishman writing songs - you've got to have a digestive biscuit."

Lawrence and his brother Guy are promoting their new LP, Omen.
