Queen makes a knight of princely grandson

We don't know the rules, exactly, but it appears that being a prince doesn't automatically make one a knight, which is this whole other thing that only, like, a king or queen can make you. That's why Prince Harry found himself being knighted by his granny, Queen Elizabeth II, who dubbed him Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in a private thing at Buckingham Palace. It recognizes Harry's decade as a real, honest-to-goodness soldier in the armed forces, with two tours in Afghanistan. Harry is soon to leave the British army, after which he will break millions of hearts just by standing around.

In other Royals news, Princess Charlotte, born May 2 to those global beloveds Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, will be christened Nov. 5 at QE2's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Save the screams, there will be no Repeatles

A flash rumor broke out over the InterWebs that four sons of Beatles - James McCartney, the son of Paul McCartney; Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon; Dhani Harrison, son of George Harrison; and Zak Starkey, son of Ringo Starr - were uniting to form a band called the Shoots. Mania revved up.

Alas, the rumor's false. A load of cobblers, begun by the satirical site the Stately Harold.

Though all the progeny are musicians, they have no plans to form a group. Not that it wouldn't be fab.
