Lauryn drops Israeli show

Lauryn Hill has canceled her Tel Aviv concert, scheduled for Thursday, but the outspoken artist has no intention of boycotting Israel, as some have claimed. Hill says she scrubbed the show because she was unable to set up a corresponding concert in Palestinian territory.

"My intention was to perform in both Tel Aviv and Ramallah," Hill says on Facebook. Hill says it's important to her to play for both communities because she wants to "be a presence supporting justice and peace."

She adds, "May healing [and] equanimity . . . come to this region and its people."

Miley is a Happy Hippie

Miley Cyrus also wants to spread goobles and gobbles of healing, like so much marmalade, all across the world. The singer on Tuesday launched her new charity project, the Happy Hippie Foundation, which will advocate for vulnerable youths, including homeless and LGBT teens. To raise money and awareness, Miley will release the Backyard Sessions, a series of music vids shot in her backyard featuring a roster of guest stars, including Joan Jett, Laura Jane Grace, Melanie Safka, and Ariana Grande.

"Pointless judgment and its effects are unfortunately something that is way too common. All humans have valid feelings and rights!" Miley said. "I want to use my voice as a megaphone to young people everywhere and encourage human evolution."
