Eve to star in sitcom; Hathaway for 'Silver Linings'

DON'T CALL IT a comeback.

After releasing her first album in nine years last spring, Philly-born rapper Eve has another project: a sitcom.

The sitcom, slated for the 2014-15 pilot season on ABC, is reportedly a multicamera interracial romantic comedy.

Eve is no stranger to being in front of the camera. She starred in an eponymous UPN sitcom that lasted from 2003 to 2006, playing a fashion designer named Shelly, despite the fact that the show was called "Eve," which seemed rather silly.

She also appeared in the "Barbershop" films, as well as "The Woodsman" with fellow Philly guy Kevin Bacon.

* In other casting news, Hollywood bigwig Harvey Weinstein told Howard Stern that Jennifer Lawrence was not his first choice for the Philly-set "Silver Linings Playbook." Instead, he wanted Anne Hathaway, but she and director David O. Russell had creative differences. Although Lawrence went on to win a Best Actress Oscar for her work in the film, Hathaway isn't crying into her couture. That same year, she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Les Miserables."

Congrats to Kennett Square's Lindsey Pedicone, who made it through to Hollywood on last night's episode of "American Idol" after singing Delta Rae's "Bottom of the River." Pedicone told me she has the smoky tone of Norah Jones, but can belt like Carrie Underwood.

The Kennett High School grad was trying out for the fourth time when she hit the golden-ticket jackpot in Boston. The only problem? She had to skip her first day of classes at Delaware County Community College.

"They were very understanding," Pedicone said, adding that she plans to attend Temple's Tyler School of Art and major in studio art after her DCCC graduation.

So what did it feel like to get a golden ticket from judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban?

"It feels like Christmas! Like, you walk down the stairs and there's a big bunch of presents on the floor," said Pedicone, who has been watching the show since she was 5 years old. "I didn't comprehend what was going on until I saw my parents. I was leaning on my parents, I was shaking so hard."

A Philly feud in the making?

TMZ has a clip of golden-voiced Penn grad John Legend and his supermodel wife, Chrissy Teigen, dropping truth bombs about Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper, who was caught on tape using racial slurs at a Kenny Chesney concert last summer. The couple do not mince words, as the video reveals. When asked if Cooper could ever be forgiven, Legend's wife, Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition-approved beauty Teigen said no, calling Cooper a . . . uh . . . let's just say, negatively connotated male genitalia.

Legend tweeted his feelings about Cooper after the wide receiver caught a touchdown pass in the first half of the NFC wild-card playoff loss against the New Orleans Saints: "We haven't forgotten about you, Riley."

Apparently not.

Bart Blatstein announced yesterday that cue-ball "Top Chef" judge Tom Colicchio and NYC chef Andrew Carmellini plan to open eateries at his proposed Provence casino at the Daily News' old haunt at Broad and Callowhill. It's certainly not a done deal: The Provence is one of five casino proposals vying for a single license. A decision on which casino will follow SugarHouse's lead will not be made for some time.

* Former Phillies hero Brad Lidge got some grub to go and had a beer at Bliss Restaurant (220 S. Broad St.). My tipster tells me that Lidge was super nice to staff ("just a real genuine, gracious guy"), tipped well and talked about why he was not in the market to take Chris Wheeler or Gary Matthews' recently vacated jobs with the Phillies, which he talked about with the Daily News' own Ryan Lawrence last week.
