Sideshow: Julia Roberts isn't obsessed with fame

Lady Gaga is promoting her album ARTPOP by unleashing a breathtaking volcanic explosion of PR that has touched every media outlet from here to Timbuktu. Dozens of interviews and photo ops have Her Gagaiosity reveal private truths and private parts galore.

Some tidbits: She tells USA Today she's been booked to become the first warbler to sing in outer space aboard a Virgin Galactic spaceship set to launch in 2015.

She tells  Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show she has overcome addiction. "I did a lot of drugs and took a lot of pills," she says, including ganja. "It's a battle, every day. I don't want to lie about it because there is no reason to lie," the Lady says. It was her way of dealing with the pain of fame. "The truth is that it is very hard to be famous. . . . I am a human being too and I break."

August: Osage County's Julia Roberts says she has learned not to be so obsessed with fame or with having status symbols such as an Oscar.

"I'm a grown-up person and have things of such greater value to pin my idea of joy and fullness on," Julia, 46, tells Marie Claire, referring to hub Daniel Moder and their three kids, Hazel, Phinnaeus, and Henry Daniel. "It's my privilege and honor to cook three meals a day for my family, and it's a luxury on a level that I didn't even realize, because it can be relentless for me on some days."

Amy Robach, 40, has breast cancer and will undergo a double mastectomy on Thursday, the ABC News reporter told Robin Roberts Monday on Good Morning America. "I've decided to be very aggressive," Robach said.

She said her job saved her: She had a mammogram live on TV last month as part of a story on cancer. She thanked Roberts, a breast cancer survivor, for pushing her to do the story. "Thank God you did," Robach said. "I had cancer the whole time we were sitting in that office, and I said, 'I don't have any connection to that disease.' "

Beyoncé sang a duet on "Irreplaceable" at her show Friday in Perth, Australia, with Sophie Kotkis, 13, a legally blind girl with hearing and muscle difficulty. B arranged the duet when she was contacted by Sophie's sister a few months ago.

Disney on Monday said it is developing a stage version of William Goldman's The Princess Bride. . . . Murder, She Wrote star Angela Lansbury, 88, says NBC's Octavia Spencer-starring remake of the '80s favorite is a mistake. "I wish her well, but I wish it wasn't in Murder, She Wrote," she says. . . . Crowds booed Justin Bieber Sunday when he cut short his Buenos Aires concert. "I'm not feeling too good, I think I'm out of energy," he said before leaving the stage. . . . The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco tweets that despite tabloid reports, she and tennis star Ryan Sweeting are not expecting a baby. . . . Pot smokers aren't prosecuted in the Netherlands, a fact Miley Cyrus no doubt knew when she lit a joint on stage Sunday at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam. She's such a rebel!
