Miley Cyrus nearly ends up in the gutter

 MILEY CYRUS  really is a pinhead.

Speaking to London's Daily Star, probably to promote her new album with the pornish title, "Bangerz," the "Wrecking Ball" singer told how she was nearly killed by a ball.

A bowling ball.

Miley explained that the last time she hit the lanes, she "almost died" and she's vowed to never bowl again.

In a scene out of a cartoon, Miley claims that her fingers got wedged inside the ball and she ended up sliding down the lane before scoring a strike with her body.

"The shoes are way too slippy and I went sliding down the lane and almost went through the pins.

"I did do a strike but it was with my own body . . .

"I was actually really frightened."

We're kind of frightened by such a nonsensical story.

From the foul line to the head pin, a bowling lane is about 60 feet. If you sprinted down the lane and slid into the pins (as if you were stealing second), you would probably have to take off with no more than 10 feet to go.

It's virtually impossible to do what Miley says she did unless you're trying to propel yourself down the lane. Even the heaviest bowling ball stuck to a hand couldn't propel an adult human 60 feet.

* In more believable music news, Kendrick Lamar is the top nominee for the Soul Train Awards.

The rapper is up for six awards, including album of the year for "good kid, m.A.A.d city" and song and video of the year for "Poetic Justice." Justin Timberlake, Miguel, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton follow with five nominations each.

The latest albums from Lamar, Timberlake and Miguel will battle efforts from Jay Z, Rihanna and Fantasia for album of the year. Lamar's other noms include best new artist, hip-hop song of the year and collaboration.

The Soul Train Awards will be presented Nov. 8 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The awards will air Dec. 1 on BET and Centric. Anthony Anderson will host.

* Bruce Springsteen mustered his best Spanish in a tribute to the people of Argentina, singing a version of the song "I Only Ask of God" (Solo le pido a Dios), which he says he learned from the late Argentine folksinger Mercedes Sosa. The song is Leon Gieco's anthem for Argentines recovering from their 1976-83 dictatorship.

The Boss gave a 3-hour, 20-minute concert over the weekend in Buenos Aires but said that he was too tired to sing in Spanish without botching the song. He put it on brucespringsteen.net instead.

The Free Speech Coalition, an adult-film trade group, will lift its second production moratorium of the past month on Friday, saying that an HIV scare has passed.

The coalition also said Monday that it would require more frequent testing of actors for sexually transmitted diseases - every 14 days instead of 28 days.

Critics of the industry have said that producers are not protecting performers. The industry has challenged a law passed last year by Los Angeles County voters that required actors to wear condoms during shoots.

The group called a weeklong moratorium last month after a 28-year-old tested positive for HIV. After that production ban was lifted, a second actor was found to have HIV, and another work stoppage was called Sept. 6.

A third performer also tested positive. The coalition says that all three appear to have contracted the virus in private life and all of their on-screen partners have tested negative.

A similar ban was enacted last year after nearly a dozen performers were infected with syphilis.

* TMZ.com reports that Zac Efron, who's now out of rehab, wasn't there for booze as originally reported, but for a serious cocaine problem and perhaps also a fondness for Ecstasy.

* Prince Harry channeled his inner David Blaine and spent about 20 hours in a giant, windy freezer to simulate the conditions he will face when he treks to the South Pole in November.

Harry will race with a team of injured British servicemen and women against groups from the United States and the Commonwealth.

Alongside four teammates - all amputees who lost limbs after suffering injuries in Afghanistan - Harry tested the clothing he will wear on the 200-mile expedition and learned how to avoid frostbite.

When asked yesterday what the worst part of his overnight experience was, Harry joked: "Going in."

* McAfee has ranked Lily Collins as the most dangerous celeb to search for online.

Collins - who starred in movies such as "Mirror, Mirror" and "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" - posed the biggest risk of landing on a malicious site, according to the computer-security company.

Last year, Emma Watson topped the list.

Female celebrities were the overwhelming lure to malware: Avril Lavigne, Sandra Bullock, Kathy Griffin and Zoe Saldana rounded out the top five. "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm was the only man in the top 10.

A person could be led to malware after doing a general search and clicking on dubious links, but risks increased when searchers added phrases like "free apps" or "nude photos."

Or "Hamm" and "sausage."
