We hate to break it to you - but Alec Baldwin says he is quitting Twitter and will never, ever tweet again. He's closed his account before, but, as Bullwinkle the Moose used to say, This time for sure (?) Alec bailed out of Twitter after a U.K. reporter claimed Alec's pregnant wife, Hilaria Thomas, was sending out happy tweets during the June 27 funeral of Sopranos star James Gandolfini. Alec claimed the report was in error, and the article has since been taken down.

Life-size Barbies for Demi!

Demi Lovato has been tweeting Barbie's manufacturer to ask the doll be made to reflect real women's figures. Artist Nickolay Lamm has reached out to Demi with reconfigured Barbies made according to the average measurements of a 19-year-old woman, as recorded by the CDC. She's curvier, shorter, and her feet aren't permanently arched. "Can I also say, that . . . That new @barbie's got BACK!!!!! Hahahaha," Demi tweets. Lamm's reimagined work may never be used to manufacture a new line of dolls. But you never know.

Hurray for the divine Sarah

Sarah Blake, who lives near Philly, is among the recipients of the 2013 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowships in Poetry.

Peace, love, Ringo!

Ringo Starr, who turns 73 on Sunday, has a birthday wish. It's even written in all-caps (How obnoxious is that?): "RINGO INVITES EVERYONE EVERYWHERE TO JOIN HIM ON HIS BIRTHDAY TO CELEBRATE WITH A MOMENT OF PEACE & LOVE ON JULY 7, 2013 AT NOON, YOUR TIME."

Royals greet Doctor Who

Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, paid homage to that great British pop-culture institution Doctor Who, which celebrates its 50th year this year.

The royals visited the show's home in Roath Lock studios, Cardiff Bay, in Wales, and met with the 11th and current Doctor, Matt Smith, and his comely companion Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman.

Smith was impressed by the prince's appreciation for the show. "[He] said that he remembers watching the show when he was 15 and seemed very knowledgeable on the Who history."
