Michael Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson and her grandson TJ Jackson will continue to serve as guardians of the late King of Pop's children, Paris, Prince, and Blanket, a Los Angeles judge ruled Tuesday on the fourth anniversary of the singer's death.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff made his ruling after reviewing results of an investigation into the family in the wake of Paris' apparent suicide attempt on June 5.

Paris' mother, Debbie Rowe, volunteered at the time to take over guardianship of the 15-year-old.

Beckloff said he was satisfied the children lived in a good environment.

Michael's fans placed hundreds of bouquets of flowers at the singer's grave to mark the anniversary.

Chris Brown charged in hit-and-run

The Los Angeles city attorney's office has charged singer Chris Brown with misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving without a valid license. City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan says the charges filed Tuesday involve a minor accident on May 21 in the San Fernando Valley.

If convicted, Brown would face up to one year in jail. Arraignment was set for July 15 at the Van Nuys courthouse, but an attorney can appear on Brown's behalf. Mateljan says the county district attorney's office will be notified of the charges and it will be up to that office and the courts to determine if the case will have any effect on Brown's felony probation in the 2009 beating of singer Rihanna.

A call seeking comment from a Brown representative was not immediately returned Tuesday.

Halle Berry testifies

Catwoman Halle Berry testified Tuesday in Sacramento, Calif., in favor of a proposed state bill to curtail paparazzi's access to celebs' children, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The bill would define as harassment - activity that "seriously alarms, annoys, torments, or terrorizes" a person - a photog's attempt to snap children without the permission of a legal guardian.
