An awesome sell-off

On a semi-regular basis, Northern Liberties boutique and gallery Art Star holds its fantastic Art Star Craft Bazaar - seriously, put their Mother's Day weekend extravaganza at Penn's Landing in your calendar now. This weekend, it's holding a smaller-scale sale with a twist: the Art Star CRAP Bazaar.

Artists and designers who regularly contribute to Art Star's well-curated inventory are selling off, at a deep discount, their "seconds," a.k.a. samples, works that didn't quite make the cut or were one-off projects.

Look for stained-glass art from Le Puppet Regime, cross-stitch from Popped Stitches, and flasks and pottery from Wrong World Ceramics, among other artists.

But it's not just a sale: Art Star will donate 25 percent of the profit to the American Civil Liberties Union, so you're shopping with a purpose beyond buying yourself something awesome, if a little off.
