On July 19, We Feed the Homeless Philly hosted its fourth annual black-tie gala at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building. More than 450 guests were treated to a dinner menu created by chef Gerald Drummond of the Stephen Starr Group and entertainment by Grammy award- winning artist Chrisette Michele, who performed songs from her new album,

Better

. Vertical Current and DJ Jazzy Joe also performed. Fun was had by all, but the purpose of the evening was to raise funds and to assist in the organization's mission to feed the homeless population in Philadelphia, as well as helping mentor and educate those in need to become more self-sufficient. The gala was a success, raising $40,000, with proceeds going to support the group's homeless outreach.
