Lower Merion Players, a student-run theater-enrichment group, has existed since 1965 and provides an artistic and educational environment for students to engage in all aspects of theater production, including reading and selection of plays or musicals, costume and lighting design, and

stage direction and management. Students work with school staff and receive guidance from Philadelphia theater professionals. The celebration of 50 years of theater was organized by seniors Jordan Askey, Lizzie Schnarr, Kate Eldridge, and Karen Hafter, who produced the gala event as their senior project. The theme of the celebration, "Road to the Stage," explored the behind-the-scenes daily experience of Lower Merion Players. The evening included live performances; an exhibit of archival posters, programs, sets, costumes, and photographs; and light refreshments. More than 100 were in attendance for the trip down memory lane.
