A favorite annual Devon tradition didn't disappoint as contestants pranced in their finest in the Ladies Day Hat Contest on May 27. Held at the Devon Horse Show fairgrounds, the contest took off without a hitch, with 100 contestants strutting their stuff and tipping their hats to the judges (including celebrity Carson Kressley) in hopes of being chosen the winner. The bounty for the winners included a 30-day lease on a new Land Rover Discovery Sport, Nordstrom gift baskets, and an evening in the main grandstand box. Hat contest winners were selected for Best Hat to Toe, Best Hat and Purse, Most Fascinating, and Best in Show. Kellmer jewelers even donated an 18-carat gold-and-diamond gallop bracelet valued at $5,000 for the Ladies Day raffle. Attendees also enjoyed a champagne luncheon on the pavilion. With Bryn Mawr Hospital being the horse show beneficiary, the day was all part of helping the community.
