Cause & Celebration: Building Hope for Kids Flyers Block Party

On March 29, the Philadelphia Flyers Wives, players, coaches, and families hosted a block party to present a specially renovated home for 4-year-old Zander Casanova, who last year was diagnosed with leukemia. The event in Philadelphia was part of the Building Hope for Kids initiative and is a partnership with the Michael's Way Foundation, founded in 2002 by Chris McElwee in memory of his late brother, Michael, who lost his battle with leukemia. Since its inception, Michael's Way has raised more than $6 million to lessen the financial hardships of hundreds of families whose children are suffering from cancer. In addition to financially supporting the renovation, the Flyers Wives played an integral role by preparing for the final reveal, and even added personal Flyers touches to the home.
