Sideshow: Mike Huckabee calls Beyoncé's music 'mental poison'

Malia and Sasha Obama's brains will rot - and their souls will be claimed by Mephistopheles - if they continue listening to Beyoncé's devil music.

No Bey for Obama girls!

Malia and Sasha Obama's brains will rot - and their souls will be claimed by Mephistopheles - if they continue listening to Beyoncé's devil music.

That's the gist of a sermon delivered by the nation's conscience Mike Huckabee, via People mag.

Yes, it's election season, and Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who many say is poised to run for the White House in '16, is making points with his GOP base by sizing up the White House's morals - and finding them wanting. What's worse, Huckabee says, is that parents Barack and Michelle let the kids listen to Bey's "mental poison."

Huckabee told the mag in an interview published Tuesday, "I don't understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about . . . how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school . . . and yet they don't see anything that might not be suitable" in Beyoncé's ouvre.

The singer, a self-described feminist, warbles such jingles as "Drunk on Love," which has lyrics about bodily fluids, and such gems as "Can't keep your eyes off my fatty/ Daddy, I want you."

Bey's choreography, Huckabee says, is "best left for the privacy of her bedroom." Jay-Z also gets a zinger. In his new book, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, Huckabee accuses the mogul of "exploiting his wife" like a "pimp."

Adios, Ann Curry!

Guam-born journalist and photog Ann Curry, who in 2012 was made national and international correspondent/anchor for NBC News and anchor at large for the Today show, is leaving the network, the Huffington Post reports.

Curry, 58, who began her broadcast journalism career in 1978 at an NBC affiliate in Medford, Ore., isn't abandoning the NBC ship altogether. She plans to establish a new media start-up with seed money from the network's parent company. She also may continue to report for network TV - though not exclusively on NBC.

"In today's world of fragmented media, this is the time to seize the opportunity to improve the way we distribute and even tell stories," Curry said Tuesday in a statement. "I want to expand my drive to give voice to the voiceless, to emerging platforms, and produce both scripted and nonscripted content."

Gossip petits fours
