THEY SAY as the winter holidays approach, couples get serious, or get split.

Thanksgiving's just about exactly a month away. Stores are already filling shelves with Christmas and Hanukkah stuff.

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin just broke up.

Lawrence, known for her Oscar-winning role beside Rydal's own Bradley Cooper in Philly-filmed "Silver Linings Playbook," along with a little movie series about teens of the future who skip meals, had been linked to the Coldplay frontman, a/k/a the "consciously uncoupled" ex-Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow, since August.

She's 24 and pleasantly down to earth.

He's 37 and has kids named Apple and Moses.

We are, somehow, relieved.

Alas, these stars weren't alone in becoming alone.

Also on the outs: Pediatric nurse Nikki Ferrell unceremoniously social-media-unfollowed Juan Pablo Galavis, everyone's least favorite "Bachelor."

Galavis, a former professional soccer player from Venezuela who turned off finalist Andi Dorfman (which turned her into "The Bachelorette" the show's following season), did what any jilted modern man would do.

He unfollowed Ferrell right back. Then refollowed. Then unfollowed . . .

Translation: They've split.

(Temporary Tattle shakes her head, leans out of her rocking chair to turn the channel on her black-and-white television set, returns to crocheting an afghan and mumbles to her cat, "My, how dating has changed.")

Happy headliners

Missy Elliott, Lil' Kim and Da Brat announced that they'll team up to perform "Not Tonight," a remix of Kool & the Gang's "Ladies Night," at next month's Soul Train Awards.

The Nov. 7 reunion will be a tribute to the larger-than-life all-male funk band, set to receive the Legend Award that night. The show is scheduled to air on Centric and BET on Nov. 30.

* ABC said that Taylor Swift will perform "Shake It Off" for folks who ring in the New Year by sitting in front of their TVs and watching a lighted ball drop to Ryan Seacrest's play-by-play.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, or with going to bed loooong before the clock strikes midnight.

Early to bed, early to rise, after all.

Daily Kimye

No wonder they named the show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

Monitoring the movings of this now-even-famouser fam is almost too much for one Temp Tattler to translate. But here goes:

Kris Jenner seems to be dating younger man Corey Gamble, a road manager for Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber's manager. She was photographed standing next to him outside a private jet (naturally) bound for Kim's 34th birthday bash in Vegas.

Kim turned 34 in Vegas.

TMZ reported that Kanye West turned down a nine-night, $4.5 million gig at the selfsame Sin City's Axis at Planet Hollywood. He'd have been earning more than Strip concert-givers Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion and Britney Spears. But more is not enough.

Sunday, the ever-serious couple showed at San Francisco's AT&T Park to fete the first anniversary of their over-the-top engagement there and, as luck would have it, catch a lil' ol' World Series game, and to pose with former Giant Barry Bonds, who at least manages to smile in a photograph, to make it seem as if he's enjoying himself the tiniest bit.

Back at home in the mansion, wee North West rolled her sweet little eyes and with great hope, cooed to her nanny, "Mama?"

Tatt-Boo

Halloween always begins early, even in Hollywood. How some stars dressed up:

Kate Hudson was a sugar skull. Tatt-tasty.

Paris Hilton was Minnie Mouse, then a Playboy bunny. Tatt-surprise-us-next-year.

* Actor-model Colton Haynes disappointed admiring fans by completely disguising himself as Fiona from "Shrek." Tatt-cheekbones?

Dennis Rodman, well, he went as himself to ex Carmen Electra's bash in Boca. Tatt-oh-Dennis.
