Twitter turned off Broadway's Lights for Joan Rivers

Broadway honored Rivers; Ashley Tisdale got married; Sara Gilbert’s having a third.

LAST NIGHT, the Great White Way dimmed its lights - all of its lights - at 6:45 in memory of Joan Rivers . The one-minute gray-out was a reversal of the Broadway League's original decision not to include the late comedienne in a long list of names for whom its lights have gone low. Among recent honorees: Lynn Redgrave , Lena Horne and Robin Williams .

At first, the league said that Rivers was not right for the tribute. She didn't qualify, according to the organization's director, because she hadn't acted on a major New York stage in more than 20 years.

But then social media stepped in and made things right, like the hero it too rarely proves to be.

Big-stage big deals Audra McDonald and Harvey Fierstein took to Twitter, along with a gaggle (Google?) of other important figures in the theater scene whom some of us would know more about if only ABC's "The Bachelor" would stop spouting spin-offs.

(Seriously Juan Pablo [Galavis], can you please stay off TV for a minute so we're not obligated to watch "Couples Therapy," now that "Bachelor in Paradise" has wrapped?)

Anyway. Myriad tweets and enough pressure from seven big member theaters later, and Broadway changed its mind.

From the great beyond, Rivers is totally saying "Eh? You wore that to my light-dimming?"

Secret-nups sigh

Another day, another celebrity getting married without giving paparazzi enough notice to totally spoil the affair.

Selfish. Selfish!

Monday, "High School Musical" star and Ocean Township native Ashley Tisdale and comparatively tall musician Christopher French became egomaniacal couple-of-the-moment, offering Instagram scant photos and giving Temporary Tattle's ringside seat to Tisdale bestie Vanessa Hudgens, as if.

Bump view

Darlene Conner is expecting. And Roseanne has nothing to do with it. Sara Gilbert, former sitcom star, current co-host on "The Talk," offered an excellent excuse for not participating in yesterday's installment of the show's "Face Your Fears" week.

She told the audience she couldn't lie on a bed of nails because, you know, lying on a bed of nails is not exactly doctor-recommended when you're carrying a tiny human inside your body. (Otherwise, bed-of-nails-lying seems a totally logical and relaxing thing to do, which is why, right at this minute, some woman, somewhere, is likely telling Juan Pablo to do so.)

The "Talk" co-hosts squealed. And squealed. You could hear them in South Philly.

Gilbert has two children already. Daughter Sawyer is 7. Son Levi is 9. Her third child will call a new woman mom; Gilbert's current wife is former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry.
