Kids rock on at Kidchella
Let the kids rock out Friday night at Smith Memorial Playground's Kidchella music festival. The inaugural festival will feature performances from Grammy-nominated Brady Rymer, pop-rock band the Not-Its, hailing from Seattle, and Walter Martin, formerly of the Walkmen, whose new solo family album We're All Young Together was released this summer. The concert is for rock music lovers 10 and younger and their caregivers.

The concert is for rock music lovers 10 and younger and their caregivers.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, the playground also will celebrate its 115th birthday with a party. The free event includes activities, birthday cake, and more.
Summer Weekends at Sahara Sam's
Hit the beach this weekend at Sahara Sam's Oasis Indoor & Outdoor Water Park's Summer Weekends, through Aug. 31.
Kids can have shore fun at the Outdoor Beach Club and jam as DJ Rossi spins tunes from noon to 6. There will also be contests, games, prizes, and giveaways. Or have fun swimming or relaxing poolside.
Friday Night Movies in the Park at Hawthorne Park
Catch an outdoor family flick free at the Friday Night Movies series at Hawthorne Park in South Philly. This week it's The Lego Movie.
Bring blankets and chairs; there will be snacks and activities at 7 p.m., and the film begins at sundown at 8:30.
