FAMILY

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Penn's Landing's brand-new, two-block-long pop-up boardwalk and barges opens today. Go see what all the fuss is about: Hop into a net "pod" that extends over the river, play a game of shuffleboard, or just have a beer, and later, a nap in one of dozens of tree-slung hammocks. Buy some locally made crafts, too.

Spruce Street and S. Columbus Boulevard, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. (through August 31), free, drwc.org.

NHL Draft and Fan Fest

Celebrate the ones we'll get - and the ones who'll get away - right outside the place where it's happening. Street hockey, an obstacle course, bounce house and educational kids' zone provide pre- (today) and post- (tomorrow) draft distractions. Plus an art show (see story on Page 38).

Xfinity Live, 1100 Pattison Ave., 2-6:30 p.m. today, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. tomorrow, free, 215-218-4326, flyers.nhl.com/club.

Fairy and Wizard Festival

The Tooth Fairy - seriously - presents this outdoor frolic for the wee ones. Celtic music, crown-making and plenty of al fresco magic, too, at this free-form celebration of nature.

Kids Corner Music Festival

Concluding event of the first indie-label kids music conference KindieComm has been opened up to the public. Lucky us, as the showcase boasts well-knowns Trout Fishing In America and Dan Zanes, plus equally strong, Latino flavored Lucky Diaz, winsome Jennifer Gasoi and our extra favorite kids popster Justin Roberts. His clever, catchy songs of youthful trauma tap responsive chords with those who remember as well as those about to experience.

MUSIC

Philly Summer Fest 2014

Urban Celebrity Magazine showcases the hip-hop 'n' pop of proudly "potty-mouthed" Tiani Victoria, busy track collaborator Pusha Feek and that girl who wants to be your Summer Valentine.

Elvis Costello

From the giddy 1930s stroll "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" to his fresh-baked "The Last Year of My Youth," the Brittle Brit's hitting many bases in this marathon length, one-person show. Declan will be sharing lots of his-story, too: personal tales that led to hits like "Veronica" and transformed a not-quite "Radio Soul" into killer "Radio Radio."

Grand Opera House, 818 N. Market St., Wilmington, 8 tonight, $60-$74, 800-37-GRAND, ticketsatthegrand.org.

Lainie Kazan

Before she made her mark as overbearing Jewish and Greek mothers in "My Favorite Year" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," Kazan was a top-shelf attraction in the nation's swankier nightclubs. See why this weekend.

The Rrazz Room, The Ramada, 6426 Lower York Road, New Hope, 8 tonight & tomorrow, $45 & $55, 888-596-1097, therrazzroom.com.

Mates of State

Great harmonies, head-bobbin' poppy tunes and a simple but effective blend of keyboards and percussion. Yeah, Kori and Jason are mates made in heaven. But first stroll with the Pine Barrons.

Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St., 8 tonight, $20, undergroundarts.org.

Philadelphia Orchestra

Bramwell Tovey leads Beethoven's "Egmont" Overture and the stirring Four Sea Interludes from Britten's "Peter Grimes." Soloists are soprano Tracy Cox, mezzo Virginie Verrez, tenor Robert Watson and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, with the Choral Arts Society of Washington.

Mann Center, 5201 Parkside Ave., 8 tonight, $15-$35, 800-745-3000, manncenter.org.

See-I

Reggae soulsters Rootz and Zeebo sharpen the rudeboy grooves to a razor's edge, pumped up by a mess of band members of Thievery Corporation. You'd swear they're from Kingston, not Washington, D.C.! Wilmington-spawned Grateful Dread (a/k/a Mustafaa) incants in the opening slot.

World Cafe Live Wilmington, 500 M. Market St., 8 tonight, $14, 302-994-1400, worldcafelive.com.

JJ Grey & Mofo

Southern soul and swampadelic rockers grip with grit and authenticity. Reasons why these guys keep building on the "base" without much radio love past Sirius/XM's "Jam On." With Thomas Wynn and the Believers.

Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St., 8:30 tonight, $23, 215-232-2100, utphilly.com.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Sometimes claimed as our own (thanks, Alex), these darlins of the Pitchfork indie rock world have a new set of dark, swirling, swoony incantations, "Only Run," to share in longer-playing live version. Also, Stagnant Pools.

Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9:30 tonight, $16, 215-739-9684, johnnybrendas.com.

Longwood Gardens, Route 1, Kennett Square, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, $37-$57, 215-893-1999, longwoodgardens.org.

If you won't go to his church, this rousing, super contemporary Camden preacher/musician will happily bring the power and glory to you with his group Youthful Praise.

TLA, 334 South St., 7 p.m. Tuesday, $20, 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

The annual neighborhood concert at Penn's Landing, with plenty of familiar favorites, always draws a huge crowd. Arrive early for glorious music. Stay late for fireworks.

Great Plaza, Penn's Landing, Chestnut Street and Columbus Boulevard, 8 p.m. Tuesday, free, philorch.org.

STAGE

'Brothers of the Knight'

A definitely more fun, upbeat interpretation of the Brothers Grimm tale about 12 dancing princesses, this child-centric musical is the product of Emmy winner and choreographer Debbie Allen, who still believes kids oughta have big dreams.
