Don't miss: The homemade sauces are what set this cart apart. They are The Green, The Red and The Ugly, in order of ascending hotness. Green is tomatillo-based, with some poblanos and jalapeños. Red kicks it up a notch with Chile de árbol and pequins. Ugly is heavy on the habaneros and can probably strip the paint off your shed. "People seem to love them," truck owner Meghan Johnson said of the sauces. "I always make them taste The Ugly first, because I don't want it to ruin anybody's food. A lot of the time, people just have a little drop and they're like, 'Whoa,' and go for the other two. Some brave souls can handle The Ugly, which I'm always impressed by."

Find it: 33rd and Arch, on Drexel University's campus.

Story: The cart is the brainchild of Meghan and her husband, Craig, who does things with electrons at Drexel that we won't even try to explain. Ranch Road is inspired by Mexican street food and the taquerias of central Texas, where Craig went to college. "He thought this would be a good way for him to eat that," Meghan joked.
