Chris Brown's Community Servicegate is becoming messier by the day. Brown is accused of not completing the 180 days of service he was ordered to do as part of his plea deal in the Rihanna assault case. Now the New York Daily News reports that the cop who certified that Brown did complete the service - Richmond, Va., police chief Bryan Norwood - has resigned.

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray last week accused Norwood of failing to properly supervise Brown. Murray said Norwood relied on Brown's mom to supervise the singer and report back on his progress.

Norwood had yet to comment on the reason he quit.

James Franco: Talent & brains

Filmmaker and Yale Ph.D. student James Franco, 34, has six films due this year, including the porn bio Lovelace (he plays Hugh Hefner), Oz the Great and Powerful (as Oz himself), and This Is the End, which will have him in his most complex role yet, James Franco. How does he manage to do it all? "[I] fight sleep every night," Franco tells Details mag. "I consider it a defeat."

Franco's poetry: A taste!

James Franco's chat in Details' March issue ends with a few verses by the poet himself, in which he admits he's a totally tasty hunk:

So many masks are worn in Franco's works: / Do you worry that your own good looks /Will ghettoize your films, exhibits, books: /Make you a McClure till proven Ginsberg?

Anger over Kate photos

Britain's royal family, which frothed at the mouth over sexy Prince Harry pics, is up in arms over photos of another member of its Gen Y contingent. London's Telegraph reports a set of paparazzo-shot photos are on sale that show the pregnant, baby-bump-sporting Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge in a bikini, chillin' with hub Prince William (not in a bikini) while on a Mustique holiday. Italian mag Chi reportedly plans to print them.

"This is a clear breach of the couple's right to privacy," a palace rep says. British publications have so far stayed away from the pics.
