Sideshow: 'Zero Dark Thirty' is tops

easily captured the top spot in the weekend box office sweeps. The Sony action flick about the hunt for

Osama bin Laden

took in $24 million for its first weekend of wide release, according to studio estimates.

Second place went to A Haunted House from Open Roads Films, a horror spoof starring Marlon Wayans, with $18.8 million, enough to make any studio exec happy to believe in ghosts.

Zero Dark Thirty has racked up five Oscar nominations, including nods for best picture, original screenplay and best actress for Jessica Chastain as a bin Laden-obsessed CIA agent. It had a limited opening last month.

Gangster Squad, a Warner Bros. crime drama starring Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling in a tale of clandestine combat between cops and mobsters in 1940s Los Angeles, copped $16.7 million.

Django Unchained snagged $11.1 mil for fourth place and Les Misérables rounded out the top five with a gate of $10.1 mil.

Entertainment newspaper Variety reported that movie industry insiders thought controversy over torture scenes in Zero Dark Thirty might help the film at the box office.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking for a housekeeper, according to London's Sunday Express. And they don't want just any old dumper of waste baskets. An internal memo advertising the job to Buckingham Palace staff said their royal hignesses were looking for someone who will take charge of "ensuring all areas of the residence are cleaned and maintained to a high standard at all times. Caring for and maintaining TRH [Their Royal Highnesses] personal clothing, cleaning silverware and glassware and in-house laundry."

Oh, and the successful candidate had better like dogs and have a driver's license, too, because the job includes walking the royal pooch and running errands.

TRH William and Kate already have one domestic employee, a Fiji-born paratrooper who serves as their chauffeur. The Express quoted "a royal insider" as saying there was much interest in the job because of "the prestige of working for the world's most famous couple." But there may also be some reluctance, the insider added, calling the work load "unprecedented."

Olivia Wilde, 28, of House, M.D., and Jason Sudeikis of Saturday Night Live are getting hitched, reports People.com. Bride and groom each will be making the second walk down the aisle. Wilde is divorced from Tao Ruspoli, and Sudeikis is the ex of screenwriter Kay Cannon.
