A compassionate, inquisitive youth

Jay has a great interest in exploring the world around him and is always willing to try something new. He's very inquisitive, and his social worker says Jay is very caring and compassionate and draws people in with his smile and charisma.

The 14-year-old is interested in exploring his career options. He is considering several professions including police officer, firefighter, veterinarian, and artist. Until then, he keeps busy with a variety of activities including playing video games, watching cartoons on television, camping, and participating in sports. Although he loves playing football and tennis, his favorite game is basketball. "In basketball, you put a lot of effort into it and you're working as a team," he says.

In school, Jay benefits from special-education services. He has great study habits, and as a result he earns many A's and B's. Math and gym are his favorite classes.

Jay needs a dedicated, patient family that will give him the support and commitment he needs to thrive. He is close to his siblings and it is important that they remain in contact.
