Nick Lachey has come out squarely on the side of parents who like to smell their children. Yep, he says, I love sniffin' my son. Nick, whose wife, Vanessa, delivered their first baby, son Camden John, on Sept. 12, has a unique way of expressing parental pride. He sniffs his son. He takes in the bairn's odorous aura.

"That smell of your newborn baby doesn't last very long, but it's something you'll always remember," Nick, 38, tells Parade.

"So I find myself sniffing his head and his neck. There is that baby smell that is so special, especially when it's your own baby!" Being a father is great and a "roller coaster" ride, too, Nick says.

"It's been incredible to go through for the first time. It's all kind of surreal. Every day is a new surprise or expression," he says. "I try to do everything with the baby. I sing to him. I shush him a lot. It's all about spending as much as you can."

Biel, Timberlake to wed . . . now! Now!

Jessica Biel, 30, and Justin Timberlake, 31, will make cement their adamantine bond this very week with a top-secret ceremony in Italy, the glossy gossip rags are saying.

"The wedding was top-secret, hush-hush," an unnamed "close friend of the couple" tells Life & Style Weekly. "Save-the-dates went out in the spring, and little information was given. Guests were warned that any phones or cameras would be confiscated, so best to leave them at the hotel." Friends and family, the mag says, have had to sign confidentiality agreements before they could be invited. (Breathe a word, and we'll take your first-born!)

Us Weekly has incontrovertible proof the wedding is at hand: Unnamed Source tells the mag that Biel was spotted Oct. 8 at a bridal boutique in Paris "in a really good mood."

There is firsthand testimony to the couple's love. Biel "is single-handedly the most important person my life," Justin told Vanity Fair in June 2011. "In my 30 years, she is the most special person, OK?"

Sambora scratched

An attack of laryngitis has forced Bon Jovi guitarist/vocalist Richie Sambora to call off his Philly concert, scheduled for Thursday night at the Electric Factory, his rep announced Wednesday. Tickets can be returned for refund at the point of purchase, according to the announcement. Richie hopes to reschedule for early next year. "I hope my fans will understand," he said in a news release.

Mr. Flav allegedly took out a knife at one point and threatened his lover and her teenage son. Flav was booked on two charges: felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence. The Spears machine's take on Lutfi

Hollywood is gearing up to mount a three-week, three-ring circus with the Sam Lutfi-Britney Spears trial, which is currently in jury selection. Lutfi, Britney's alleged one-time lover, friend, manager and/or drug pusher, is suing Brit and her family for defamation, assault, and breach of contract for backing out of a deal naming him her manager. Perez Hilton reports that the Spears team will claim Lutfi used drugs to control Brit. RadarOnline says Brit's side also will argue she was being manipulated by all and sundry and unable to sign a contract.

Meanwhile, the National Enquirer says Brit is calling off her wedding to Jason Trawick because she says she has discovered he has been "faking" their romance so he can gain control of her life, career, and money.

Coupon site loses Gosselin-power

Former reality star Kate Gosselin has lost her post-TV-fame job as a blogger on CouponCabin.com, reports Access Hollywood. Like the Philly native actually was let go!

"A series of recent events have made it clear to me that Kate Gosselin and her contributions do not align with the authenticity which we set out to build almost a decade ago, and that Ms. Gosselin is simply not a good fit with the wonderful team and culture at CouponCabin," the website's founder and CEO Scott Kluth says in an open letter. What did she do wrong?

Kate has yet to comment.

Beautiful baby for beautiful babe

Hollywood beauties Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, 39, have successfully intermingled their genetic material.

"We have been very lucky to have had a peaceful few weeks at home, but I would like to release this myself before others do," Fox, 26, wrote Wednesday on her Facebook page. "I gave birth to our son Noah Shannon Green on September 27th. He is healthy, happy, and perfect."

It's Fox's first baby. Green has a 10-year-old son, Kassius Lijah, from his prior relationship with Vanessa Marcil.

Pitt is the pits of consumerist despair

Singular thesp and Angelina Jolie's life-partner Brad Pitt has sinned again: He's filmed a second commercial for Chanel No. 5. People mag's review is instructive.

"Pitt narrates two scenes: one featuring a dark-haired woman gazing out a floor-to-ceiling window in a high-rise building overlooking a nighttime cityscape, and the other with a blonde who appears to be walking on water surrounded by mountains," says the mag. I'm moved.
