‘Local feisty females’ sought for TV show

"Calling all bad girls!" declares an e-mail shout-out for the Oxygen network's highest rated show, Bad Girls Club.

"Calling all bad girls!" declares an e-mail shout-out for the Oxygen network's highest rated show, Bad Girls Club.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, the expletive-laced reality show will host an open casting call for "local feisty females" at McFadden's in Old City.

Feisty is right, because although the show officially frowns on violence, well, smackdowns happen, like the slapfest featuring Philly's Aimee Landi in a first-season episode titled "Smack My Beach Up." (See the video: http://youtu.be/qklr4e_Wy6k.)

Although her opponent got sent home, Landi lasted all 20 episodes and returned for a couple of reunion shows.

The ideal candidate seems to be young, but at least 21, with a strong personality she's willing and able to show.

The program, which ends its ninth season Oct. 15, follows seven women with, er, personality issues and various sexual preferences struggling to live together in a particular city. This season it was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Next season it's Atlanta, where cast members will be staying for more than three months.

When someone seriously misbehaves, she gets replaced. As one of the Bad Girls told a radio interviewer this season, as seen on an Oxygen.com clip, "We kicked four bitches out of this house already. ... We flicked them like boogers."

The B word gets tossed around a lot - and we don't mean boogers.

Unlike Survivor or Big Brother, it's not an elimination process with the last Bad Girl standing collecting some cash-rich grand prize. Instead, participants, though, do get a stipend, are guided to work out their issues, living a tale of possible redemption through the season finale.

In some cases, women have later been in Oxygen spin-offs, like Tanisha Gets Married, featuring Season Two Bad Girl Tanisha Thomas.

The interviews are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at McFadden's, 461 N. Third. St.
