Diagnosed with Down syndrome, the 13-year-old attends a school where he receives special-education services. Raymear is the highest-functioning student in his class and can complete his homework. He spends many hours happily drawing and coloring. With supervision and some assistance from the caretakers in his foster placement, Raymear is able to handle his personal daily needs. Although he has difficulty verbalizing his thoughts and feelings, he is making progress in communicating his needs in short, simple sentences.

Raymear would do best in a one- or two-parent home with one or no other children. His adoptive family will need to be understanding, loving, and very patient as he adjusts to his new home and school. He is eligible for financial subsidy.
