The sturdy Def Jam rapper K.R.I.T., a highly regarded producer as well as a fierce-flowing MC, dropped both his major-label album Live From the Underground and his new mix tape, 4Eva N a Day, within the last year, and the mouth from Mississippi thrills throughout both Southern-fried recordings. German-born, North Carolina-raised MC J. Cole was the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label and on Cole World: The Sideline Story, his halting, Drake-like delivery and sonorous flow make for some sweet, wiry sounds and a few happily hammy soliloquies worthy of Shakespeare. — A.D. Second annual Rockin' Docs. For Drs. Jeremy Jaffe and Ken Einhorn, founders of Rockin' Docs for Diabetes Cure, this event has deep personal significance. Their event's purpose is to raise both awareness and funds for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Diabetes has affected the families of both physicians. Jaffe, who is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist at Abington Hospital, has the disease and so do his children. Einhorn, chief of the division of otolaryngology at Abington, has a son with type 1. They decided to do a charity event, and this year, the docs and friends will rock the Electric Factory to raise money for the cure. — Sally Friedman
