Sideshow: Depp's princess and the three peas

Vanessa Paradis, 39, on Tuesday was confronted with that most pressing question: Is she still Johnny Depp's one and only? Or is the couple no more?

The French model, singer, and thesp gave a reply that philosophers will still be deciphering centuries from now. "You know, when I eat three peas, I'm pregnant. When I visit a city, I'm buying a house," Paradis told French radio station Europe 1.

"In the winter I separate, in the summer I marry. It's been 15 years since I've been getting married every year. In addition I have to answer all these rumors!"

Paradis explained that she doesn't believe in the concept of soul mates, because "if you lose your soul mate everything is done for."

Shock, vertigo - and perhaps a touch of tummy troubles - engulfs a grieving nation in the wake of the Seal/Heidi Klum separation. Seal insists the couple remain friends.

"In terms of our love and respect for each other, it hasn't changed at all," the "Let's Stay Together" [ouch!] singer tells PBS's Tavis Smiley in a chat to air Friday. "And I think that when two people feel that way about each other, it is easy - it is easier to make that transition."

Seal says the duo's priority remains their four children, Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou.

In another chat, with Ellen DeGeneres set to air Wednesday, Seal said he continued to wear his wedding band. "We have eight years, eight wonderful years together," he said. "We will be connected in many ways till the rest of our lives."

"You don't like me, you really don't like me," Albert Brooks tweeted Tuesday to that most faithless of all harlots, Academy Awards statuette Oscar. Brooks, 64, was upset he did not receive an Academy Award nod for his turn as a gangster in Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive. (Brooks has one Oscar nod, for supporting actor in 1987's Broadcast News.)

Twitter-trigger-happy snubbees this year include Young Adult actor Patton Oswalt, who asked Brooks to join him for a consolation drink at L.A.'s Drawing Room. "Me and Serkis have been here since 6 am," he tweeted, referring to fellow snubbee Andy Serkis, who starred as ape Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. "Serkis has Pogues on the jukebox and [Michael] Fassbender just showed up in a pirate hat." Fassbender was snubbed for his stunning performance as a sex addict in Shame.

"We're definitely going to run out of booze," tweeted Oswalt, who invited a host of other snubbees, including Charlize Theron, Tilda Swinton, Ryan Gosling, Elizabeth Olsen, and Kirsten Dunst.

The Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 19-date "Wrecking Ball" world tour starts March 18 in Atlanta and will come to the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly on March 28 and 29. The official band lineup released Tuesday morning includes no replacement for sax player Clarence Clemons, who died last year. Spike Lee, who is at the Sundance Film Festival with Red Hook Summer, the latest entry in his "chronicles of Brooklyn, N.Y.," films, told assembled cineastes Tinseltown suffers from a lack of diversity.

In the "upper echelons of television and studios, it's 1950. It's Eisenhower," Lee, 54, said. He added that including more minority films makes business sense since, according to U.S. Census data, "white Americans will be a minority by 2045."
