Sideshow: Salad days for Lady Gaga?

If Indian animal rights activists have their way, mega-selling singer and sex symbol Lady Gaga will wear a lettuce dress (a dress made out of lettuce) during her sojourn in New Delhi this weekend.

Her Gagaiosity is performing at an invitation-only party Sunday to celebrate India's first Formula 1 auto race. PETA India wants her to promote vegetarianism. (It's a counterpoint to the famed meat dress Gaga wore at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.)

"We'll make her a dress entirely of lettuce," says org rep Sachin Bangera. "It will be a full-length gown, and we'll make sure it looks sexy."

Sexy? Hm, Then it'll definitely not be iceberg. We're thinking a swirling gown of romaine, with radicchio and arugula accents.

Bryn Mawr native Kat Dennings is sexy. She's also very odd. The 2 Broke Girls star tells GQ that she embraces her freak factor.

"I don't think I'm a weirdo in a bad way, there's just a lot going on in my head," she tells GQ. Love her or hate her, but don't ever - ever - call her quirky.

"I hate that damn word! Quirky is what a guy would call a girl he doesn't understand," says Kat.

Lauren Conrad - beloved star of The Hills, celebrated author (the L.A. Candy trilogy), and gal-about-town - is writing a beauty book, she says on her blog (www.laurenconrad.com). She asks fans to send in their hair, makeup, and skin-care queries, which she'll answer in the tome.

Yardley's Corie Feiner has been named the 2011 Bucks County Poet Laureate, having bested 71 other versifiers in the 35th annual poet laureate contest. The contest's judge, poet Martha Rhodes, said Feiner's poems have "wonderful and unexpected moments throughout. . . . These poems are clear, moving, and multidimensional." Feiner will read her poems Nov. 13 at Bucks County Community College (www.bucks.edu/).

Mario Cantone, 51, who played Charlotte York's wedding planner on Sex and the City, said Friday that he and his partner of 20 years, musical theater director Jerry Dixon, have wed. The ceremony was officiated by pastor Jay Bakker, the son of the late Tammy Faye Bakker Messner.
