Sideshow: Jane Fonda: Yes, there is sex after 73

Jane Fonda is 73. She meditates and does yoga. She looks barely 39. And she reveals in her book of wisdom, My Life So Far, that she is, at 73, still having sex. (We said she's 73, right?)

Jane Fonda is 73. She meditates and does yoga. She looks barely 39. And she reveals in her book of wisdom, My Life So Far, that she is, at 73, still having sex. (We said she's 73, right?)

Before you go Eeewww! and throw down your paper (or iPad, iPhone, laptop, or desktop), consider that there are plenty of law-abiding citizens older than 65 who enjoy a healthy sex life. Perhaps you're one yourself.

Fonda says she was shocked that readers were shocked that she (shockingly) went into detail about sex after 65. "I wasn't trying to be shocking, but I go into details, and it seems to have shocked people. . . . I made a list of things to cover," the Klute and On Golden Pond star tells USA Today. "I'm still sexually active. There are certain things that change as you age, and I wanted to talk about that."

Of lust, love, marriage . . .

Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, 39, is 7-foot-1. His (reported) gf, reality TV persona Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander (Flavor of Love), is only 5-foot-2. This (alleged) fact has Us magazine all atwitter.

But it's not shocking or anything: Kris Humphries is 6-foot-9, while his beloved, Kim Kardashian, is 5-foot-2.

Meanwhile, on things more kid-friendly (or not), a petition is urging the makers of PBS's classic kids' show Sesame Street that it should affirm that gay marriage is now legal in New York by having two of its puppets wed. Which couple? Bert and Ernie! Lair Scott of Chicago started the petition at Change.org, and it's getting a lot of attention. "We are not asking Sesame Street to do anything crude or disrespectful," he tells ABC News. "Let us teach tolerance of those that are different." Sesame Workshop, which produces the show, is not amused, insisting the guys are only pals.

"Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves."

. . . and babies

Kiss singer Paul Stanley, and his wife, lawyer Erin, welcomed a baby, named Emily Grace Stanley, on Tuesday. The couple have two other kids, Brianna, 2, and Colin Michael, 4, and Paul has another son, Evan Shane, 17, from a previous relationship.

Sam Trammell, 40, who plays a shape-shifting were-dog of some kind (he hates it when people call it a werewolf!) on HBO's monster bash True Blood, and his actor gf, Missy Yager (Mad Men), have welcomed their first kids, twin boys, says Life & Style Weekly. Names yet to be announced.

Today in EntBiz news

An opening date has been set for Brad Pitt's enviro-horror thriller, World War Z. Directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) and costarring Bryan Cranston and Mireille Enos, the "geopolitical thriller" has Pitt fighting a zombie pandemic, says USA Today. It's due Dec. 21, 2012.

Like mother, like daughter: Heather Locklear's lovely 13-year-old child, Ava Sambora (conceived with help from Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora), has signed to star in the next comedy from Pineapple Express auteur Judd Apatow. The film (no title yet) will costar Judd's daughter, Maude Apatow, says movie blog TheWrap.com.

A lot of $ for Ashton - but not really

Two and a Half Men star and social media mogul Ashton Kutcher earns $700,000 an episode on his new show, making him the most richly remunerated sitcom star in the entire nation, TV Guide says.

Not so impressive, is it? It's the recession, people. Ash's predecessor, Ninja assassin Charlie Sheen, made something close to $2 mil an episode last year! Heck, Jerry Seinfeld was making $1 mil an episode on Seinfeld - and that was 15 years ago. How can stars survive on such cut-rate salaries?

Charlie Sheen: I love my death!

Warning: "Two and a Half Men" spoiler.

Charlie Sheen really digs the way he's killed off on Two and a Half Men, which premieres Sept. 19.

Seems Charlie's character, Charlie Harper, is reduced to a "meat explosion," as TMZ poetically puts it, by a speeding train. "I am honored that it took something as large and violent as an oncoming train to terminate my character," Charlie tells TMZ. "Anything less would have been an insult!"

Casey Anthony, most hated person

Casey Anthony, who last month was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, is the most hated person in America. (Respondents say she is "creepy" and "cold.")

In a poll of 1,100 men and women older than 13, E-Poll Market Research found that Anthony, 25, is more disliked than avid plastic-surgery-consumer Nadya "Octomom" Suleman, 36, whose claim to fame is that she delivered 14 children.

Octomom, who ranks third in the most-hated poll, raised the public's ire in June when she said, "I hate babies. They disgust me."

The top five include reality-TV bozo Spencer Pratt (No. 2), Anthony's fellow acquitted murder suspect O.J. Simpson (No. 4), and Jon & Kate Plus Eight sex machine Jon Gosselin (No. 5).

Casey's parents writing a book?

Meanwhile, Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, have responded to rumors they want to cash in on their granddaughter's death and their daughter's trial by penning a tell-all memoir. The New York Post had reported that the Anthonys had met with Simon & Schuster about a deal. The Anthonys' attorney denies the report, while the publishing house denies it intends to publish a book by any member of the Anthony family.
