Schools that need Sankofa

THE SANKOFA Passages Program provides mentoring, college tours, after-school workshops and summer trips to at-risk students through the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color, a Boston-based nonprofit group that was founded by Philly native Ron Walker in 2007.

THE SANKOFA Passages Program provides mentoring, college tours, after-school workshops and summer trips to at-risk students through the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color, a Boston-based nonprofit group that was founded by Philly native Ron Walker in 2007.

The Coalition's mission is to help teachers and principals ensure young men of color receive a quality education.

Sankofa was in the following schools last year:

* Kensington High School for Creative and Performing Arts

* One Bright Ray Community High School, in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia

* Philadelphia Learning Academy North, in Feltonville

* Philadelphia Learning Academy South, in the Belmont section of West Philadelphia

* Randolph Career Academy, in Nicetown

* Strawberry Mansion High School

* Thomas Edison High School, in North Philadelphia
