EDUCATION: Education: B.A., Lafayette College, 1977; M.B.A, Washington University, 1979; Ed.D., University of Pennsylvania, 2003.

FAMILY: Married with three children.

PHILA. SCHOOL DISTRICT: As deputy superintendent, Nunery had wide responsibility, overseeing facilities, procurement, human resources, information technology, and new schools.

OTHER EXPERIENCE: Spent 16 years in corporate banking, and four years with the NBA as a vice president. Also, a former executive of Edison Schools Inc. and at Penn.

His foundational business experience came from Leroy Nunery & Sons Inc., now LSP Electrical Contractors.

He is an adjunct instructor for the Fels Institute of Government at Penn, and serves on the Plan Performance and Financial Standards Committee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Inc.
