Man shot and killed at Roosevelt Boulevard intersection

A stop at a Roosevelt Boulevard traffic light proved fatal for a man killed on the road early Sunday.

The 39-year-old was driving east on Summerdale Avenue shortly before 6 a.m. and stopped at the intersection with the boulevard, according to Philadelphia Police. A white Cadillac pulled up next to the victim's vehicle and gunshots were fired from that vehicle, hitting the victim multiple times in the head and neck, according to police.

The Cadillac sped south onto Roosevelt and the victim's car swerved across the road before crashing into the fence at Friends Hospital on the northbound side of the boulevard.
