You know who else gets no love at the Oscars? Gay men

Also in Tattle: Glenda Jackson, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Evans, Cher, Flint’s putrid water, Miley Cyrus, Woody Allen, Kevin Hart and more.

With talk of Oscar boycott in the air over the Academy's monochromatic nominations process, we thought we'd mention that the Academy is not only negligent in presenting awards to African-Americans.

The number of Puerto Ricans who've won acting Oscars? Three. Jose Ferrer, Benicio Del Toro and Rita Moreno. Del Toro is the only winner in the last 50 years.

The number of Asians who've won acting Oscars? Four. Yul Brynner, Ben Kingsley, Haing S. Ngor and Miyoshi Umeki. None in the last 30 years.

We could go on and delve deeper into smaller groups, but one group we would not have expected to see on the list? Gay men.

Hard to believe, Harry.

With all the gay actors there are, is it really possible that no gay man has ever won an acting Oscar? Probably not. But openly gay Magneto-portrayer  (twice nominated for "Gods and Monsters" and "Lord of the Rings") insists that no openly gay man has ever won.

"It's not only black people who've been disregarded by the film industry, it used to be women, it's certainly gay people to this day," McKellen told Sky News. "And these are all legitimate complaints, and the Oscars are the focus of those complaints at the moment."

McKellen continued when he spoke to the Guardian: "If you are trying to have a career as a black or Hispanic actor in a state – California – where white people are now the minority, and you are being judged by an academy where the vast majority are white, male, middle-aged and old," he noted. "Well, perhaps that is the wrong yardstick."

"No openly gay man has ever won the Oscar," he added. "I wonder if that is prejudice or chance."

* In a barely related story, 79-year-old two-time Oscar winner Glenda Jackson ("Women in Love," "A Touch of Class") told Entertainment Weekly the whole concern with Oscars is silly.

Compared to years ago, she said, the Oscars "have much less to do with cinema. They are about frocks and the whole shebang of nonsense."

Straight inta '24'

Entertainment Weekly reports that "Straight Outta Compton's" Corey Hawkins - he played Dr. Dre - will star in the new TV version of "24."

Hawkins will play Eric Carter in "24: Legacy," where he will try to prevent a terrorist attack on American soil.

Former "24" star Kiefer Sutherland, meanwhile, has been cast in a new ABC thriller called "Designated Survivor." He'll play a man who takes over as president after a State of the Union address goes horribly wrong.

TATTBITS

* In what passes for an "Exclusive!" in the world of entertainment stories, E! News reported yesterday that Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Evans are not dating.

But, oh, what a union of Katniss Everdeen and Captain America might have wrought.

* A lot of celebs are offering help to the residents of Flint, Mich., with their tainted water problem.

In addition to donations of money, E! News says Cher has joined with Icelandic Glacial to donate 181,000 bottles of H2O and Mark Wahlberg and Sean "Diddy" Combs, who co-own AQUAhydrate, have pledged to donate 1 million bottles.

Flint has about 100,000 residents.

Tracy Morgan is launching his "Picking Up the Pieces" stand-up tour Feb. 5 at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. The tour will continue through May.

Morgan will perform three shows in New Jersey, including a New Brunswick theater about 20 miles from where his near-fatal turnpike accident occurred.

* This sounds sort of crazy, but E! News reports Miley Cyrus will star opposite Elaine May and Woody Allen in Woody's six-episode Amazon series set in the 1960s.

* What medium can't Kevin Hart conquer?

"Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and Conan Help A Student Driver" has generated more than 26 million views to become the "Conan" show's most-watched video clip ever.

They might have broken the Internet had they also sung karaoke with Adele.
