Tattle: Celebs in love, or kiss-and-tell hell

IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY, and love - or whatever passes for love among celebrities - is in the air. Life & Style magazine, which tracks assorted "Bachelors" and "Bachelorettes" like a hound on a fox hunt, is confirming that present "Bachelor" Sean Lowe proposed to one of the 25 female contestants in Thailand when the show wrapped filming in November.

Sean Lowe "has this incredible way of making you feel like you're the only person in the room," show host Chris Harrison said in a recent interview.

Amazingly, he still seems to be engaged.

"Sean and his fiancee are happy and committed to each other," said an anonymous insider. "They're planning to get married before the end of the summer."

"His final choice was an easy one," said the source. "He's totally confident with his decision."

Producers want to keep the chosen one under wraps until the March 11 finale, but they are facilitating the burgeoning romance by flying the couple to an L.A. mansion so that they can spend time together.

* HollywoodLife.com reports that the relationship between Katy Perry and John Mayer has progressed to the point where he's met her parents.

More surprising, they seem to like him.

(Since he's already been linked to every woman in Hollywood, his cheating options are limited.)

HollywoodLife says that John and Katy met up with her folks, Mary and Keith Hudson, at Mr. Chow after the Grammy Awards.

"Katy couldn't have looked happier," said an unnamed source, who may have stopped busing tables long enough to phone in the tip. "She was just beaming, with a huge smile on her face.

"They all looked relaxed, especially Katy and John. They were holding hands and when they weren't, John had his arm around Katy. Before they left, John leaned into Katy and gave her a kiss on the forehead - it was cute."

"Katy's parents also really like John," said the source, who morphed from busboy to PR plant. "They prefer him over Russell [Brand]. They thought Russell was too temperamental."

* While Katy may have found true love, at least for now, she's not too happy that her former galpal Rihanna is back with Chris Brown. Us Weekly reports Katy "doesn't approve," according to another unnamed source, who says that the women's friendship has fizzled.

* One set of Valentine's Day roses, however, may be especially thorny.

In Touch magazine is exclusively blabbing that Kris Jenner, who's recently taken on the tabloid role of a professional-wrestling villain, stepped out on current hubby, Bruce Jenner, with longtime rumored fling Todd Waterman. This rumor goes back to the days when Kris was married to the late Robert Kardashian.

"Last year, Kris persuaded Todd to appear on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' " said an unnamed yente. "It was her way of paying him off and making sure he stayed silent about their torrid past."

Torrid? Oh, please.

Kris denies cheating on Bruce or paying off Todd, but Todd reportedly told In Touch early last year that he was keeping it up with a Kardashian even after Bruce started shacking up with Kris.

Since his appearance on the show and reported payoff, his stance has softened. "I really wish I could talk to you," Todd recently told In Touch. "But I can't because I'm under contract with the family to not talk about them."

An In Touch source says that Todd was paid more than $15,000 to appear on the show, about 10 times the going rate.

TATTBITS * DMX, who's had a fair number of run-ins with the law, especially when he's been behind the wheel, has been arrested in northwestern South Carolina (which is just below southwestern North Carolina) for driving without a license. Authorities say that DMX (a/k/a Earl Simmons) was arrested Wednesday after an officer saw him at a gas station. DMX already faced several charges of driving without a license, so he was pulled over. The rapper was released after paying a fine. And probably drove off. * Congrats to Steve Martin, who has put down his banjo long enough to become a first-time daddy at 67. Martin and his wife, Anne Stringfield, 41, who married in 2007, welcomed the top-secret infant into their lives way back in December. No one, except perhaps them, seems to know the baby's place of birth, birth date or sex. That's why there are Pulitzers. - Daily News wire services contributed to this report.
