Dan Gross: Vick cancels 'Oprah' date

THE "Oprah Winfrey Show" says Michael Vick has canceled his appearance on the show, scheduled for Feb. 24, "for personal reasons."

THE "Oprah Winfrey Show" says Michael Vick has canceled his appearance on the show, scheduled for Feb. 24, "for personal reasons."

"Michael Vick was scheduled to be a guest on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' for an episode airing next Thursday, February 24," said an Oprah show spokesman.

"Mr. Vick's representatives called last night to cancel his appearance for personal reasons."

"After careful consideration," Vick said in a statement released by his spokesman Chris Shigas, "I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22. I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future."

Asked to be more specific, Shigas said the problems related to "timing of the interview for personal and professional reasons."

The possibility that Vick had backed out was first reported yesterday afternoon in a video by Philly.com's Marnie Hall.

Condo sues Celek

Eagles tight end Brent Celek and his kickboxer wife, Susie, have been sued by the Villas at Packer Park Condominium Association, in South Philadelphia, for having a dog, named Bruiser, which the condo association says violates their deed.

According to the complaint, which you can read at courthousenews.com/celek, filed Tuesday in Common Pleas Court, the only dogs allowed at the building are service dogs assisting the handicapped. The complaint notes that neither Celek has a medical need for the dog.

The condo association demands the Celeks immediately remove Bruiser from their condo and pay damages "presently believed to be in excess of $10,000" for damages caused to the common areas of the condo building. The complaint states that the condo board has repeatedly told the couple of the violation.

Through the Eagles, Celek declined comment yesterday. However a source close to the Ohio native says that neither the couple nor dog are staying there and that the matter is likely to be resolved amicably.

In other Eagles lawsuits . . .

George Beach of Center City's Beach Creative Consulting is seeking $21,741.67 from the DeSean Jackson Foundation.

Beach sued the foundation over alleged failure to pay for services the company provided for a gala event last May. Beach's attorney, Demetrius Parrish, told us yesterday that his client gave the foundation, which made a deposit of $8,469, a discount off what had originally been agreed to, but then received a payment of $13,365.38 - $5,000 short of what was invoiced. Parrish says the charity, which benefits pancreatic cancer research, "unilaterally cut the fee," and decided to pay a lesser amount. An e-mail we sent the foundation's executive director, Gayle Jackson, mother of the wide receiver, was not returned.

Movie matters

Topher Grace wore a Phillies cap yesterday while in town promoting "Take Me Home Tonight," a comedy that opens March 4, but he admitted to us it was just a prop. The actor, who also produced the film, said that his three-week interview tour has done wonders for his hat collection. He is trying to wear a cap of the local pro team in every city he visits.

* Souderton's Eric Moyer is working

with director Tommy Reid to develop a film from his screenplay "My Little Trainwreck," in which Reid's sister Tara Reid is slated to star.

The project should not be a stretch for Tara Reid, who has had public battles with alcohol, as it centers on a troubled starlet who arrives in a small town and whose handlers hire a local bartender to be her babysitter. Tommy Reid will direct and produce the film on which Moyer is also a producer. Tommy produced "Kill the Irishman" with Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Vinnie Jones. It's out March 11.

Moyer is the director of "A Halfway House Christmas," which co-starred Robert Romanus, best known for playing Mike Damone in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."
