GQ has anointed five handsome men as its 2013 Men of the Year - Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell, and the late James Gandolfini. The mag's December issue will be released with five different cover images to honor each dude.

Justin, who is shaping up to be a fine actor, tells GQ he was hurt by the negativity critics unloaded on him when his movie Runner Runner flopped.

"The movie didn't do well at the box office, so I should quit? Hold on a second. If I was somebody else, you wouldn't have said that," he says. "I have the No. 1 album this week, and I shouldn't have released it? Come on, man." Yeah, come on!

Baldwin's tears

Alec Baldwin isn't the sort to weep in public, so it took us all by surprise when he welled up Tuesday while testifying in a New York court against his alleged stalker, Genevieve Sabourin. The New York Daily News says the comely Canadian actress heckled Baldwin while he detailed how she unleashed upon him a "nightmarish" assault of voice mails and e-mails.

Baldwin, 55, who met Sabourin in 2002 on the set of The Adventures of Pluto Nash, insisted the two had never been romantically involved. That prompted Sabourin, facing 23 counts of harassment and one of stalking, to cry out, "You're lying!" (She said they did, too, have a liaison.)

Baldwin teared up as he described how she showed up last year at his East Hampton home. "I wasn't sure if she had a gun or a weapon," he said.

Sabourin: "Why is he crying?"

Orlando? Who's he?

Miranda Kerr is an exceptional woman. A superwoman, an Überwench! I know because she didn't disintegrate on a cellular level when Orlando Bloom stopped sharing her bed.

In her first interview since the couple's Oct. 25 announcement they are splitting, Kerr tells Self mag she's just fine. She forces herself to make herself fine by jumping. Actually jumping.

"If I'm having a challenging moment, I jump for joy. Literally," says Kerr. "After a minute, I feel better, and after a few minutes, I'm really happy. Everything else just drops off. It gets me out of my head and into my body, and it makes me feel present." Jump therapy! Patent that, Miranda, baby!

Jennifer Lawrence & fame

Hunger Games beauty (and megabrains) Jennifer Lawrence still is coming to terms with fame. "It did kind of scare me when I first was offered the part" of Katniss Everdeen, she tells In Style. "The more somebody recognizes me, the less I'm going to be able to lose myself in any other characters. But then I started to think differently. It's not as scary when it's a character you love, who is impressive and honorable."

Jennifer, 23, says growing up with brothers who simply beat on her (in good fun) sheltered her from the kind of warped meanness girls unleash on one another. "Girls are so imaginative, so good at getting to the warped place and really just taking someone apart surgically," she says. "A girl will tell you: 'Your arms are flabby.' Oh my god! Don't go for the arms!"

Tidbits 'n' pieces

"[S]ometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give AF," Miley Cyrus tweets to folks shocked that she smoked pot on stage in Amsterdam. . . . Kelly Clarkson and her brand-new hub, Brandon Blackstock, are trying "like rabbits!" to have children, the warbler tells Jay Leno. "I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five," she says.

Shirley MacLaine sez: Chill!

Shirley MacLaine, 79, has some advice for Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and their ilk.

They should "cool it," Shirl tells Parade. Their antics "influence the response to their actual work. They're good musicians and they're good with translating music into lyrics, into expression. But all we think of is what they do antic-wise . . . they've become a product."

Emma forgives Helena

Emma Thompson forgives Helena Bonham Carter's gaboodle with her then-spouse Kenneth Branagh. Emma tells the Sunday Times that she and Helena are cool (not as clear on Ken). Married in '89, Emma and Ken for a while were the Leigh/Olivier or Taylor/Burton or, um, Jolie/Pitt of their age. They split in '95 amid rumors Ken was extramuraling with Helena. The news split brains and destroyed illusions worldwide.

Ken and Helena did get together . . . until '99. Now Emma's married to actor/producer Greg Wise, Ken's been married to Lindsay Brunnock since '03, and Helena's been with creep-show master Tim Burton since '01.

The guys the studios love

Comeback kid Robert Downney Jr., a dead duck in the '90s, hauled in $75 mil for his flicks in the last 12 months, making him the biggest cash bull on Hollywood Bull-evard, says Forbes. Channing Tatum ($60 mil), Hugh Jackman ($55 mil), Mark Wahlberg ($52 mil), and the Rock ($46 mil) round out the top five.
