Sideshow: Tiger and ex are cordial

Tiger Woods and ex-wife Elin Nordegren were photographed together Saturday in Jupiter, Fla., for the first time in years, with daughter Sam, 5, and son Charlie, 4, says TMZ. The golfer, 37, and former model, 33, strolled at an event for a local youth sport organization. Although their six-year marriage ended bitterly in 2010 after the late-2009 revelations of Woods' many affairs, TMZ reports, they chatted cordially for about a half-hour.

Woods has been quietly dating Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn for several months, dispatching his private jet to retrieve Vonn, 28, from Austria after a serious injury. Nordegren, meanwhile, was recently linked to Swedish hockey player Douglas Murray and has been focusing on completing her $12 million beachfront mansion in North Palm Beach.

Off the wall

A mural by secretive graffiti artist Banksy has been withdrawn from an auction sale after a campaign by London residents to reclaim it.

The stencil of a young boy sewing Union Jack bunting on an antique sewing machine vanished earlier this month from the side of a north London bargain store, then appeared on the website of a Miami auction house.

The mural was to have been sold Saturday at an estimated price of $500,000 to $700,000. Fine Art Auctions Miami later said it had been withdrawn, but did not explain why.

Meh at the movies

Hollywood's latest films performed tepidly at the box office on Oscar weekend, with Melissa McCarthy's Identity Thief returning to the top spot in its third week of release. It earned $14.1 million over the weekend, enough to regain the title after losing it last week to A Good Day to Die Hard, the Bruce Willis action sequel. With a cumulative $93.7 million, Identity Thief is the biggest hit so far in 2013.

On Oscar weekend, moviegoers' attention focuses more on the Academy Awards than on theaters. For the fifth week in a row, the box office take was down as compared to last year's business.

One of the two new films in wide release, Lionsgate's Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson action film Snitch, opened with $13 million - a decent but not strong showing at a time when action films have largely fared poorly.

Although A Good Day to Die Hard, the fourth film in the franchise, led the box office last week, it slid 60 percent in its second week to $10 million. The other new wide release was Dark Skies, a PG-13 horror film starring Keri Russell. It debuted with $8.9 million.
