Dan Gross | Fall Out Boy's local lyricist

SOUTH Philly's Wesley Eisold is credited as co-writer on three songs on Fall Out Boy's new record "Infinity on High."

How did Eisold get hooked up with Fall Out Boy? He won't say.

However, sources familiar with the lyrics of Eisold's former band American Nightmare say several phrases and verses on F.O.B's multi-platinum "From Under the Cork Tree" were lifted from American Nightmare lyrics and poetry Eisold wrote elsewhere.

Eisold, a Boston transplant who sings in hardcore punk act Some Girls, moved to Philly in August. We're told Eisold never gave permission for his lyrics to be used, and never received any royalties from record sales. On some versions of "From Under the Cork Tree," Eisold is listed as "Inspirador," and on other copies it says "Tear Chaser inspired by Wesley Eisold of Some Girls."

Sources say Eisold and the band reached an out-of-court settlement on the lifted lyrics. But Eisold declined to discuss the matter when contacted for this story.

Fall Out Boy's label Island/ Def Jam did not respond to our detailed request for comment.
