StartupPHL seeks applications for grants
If you're a start-up and in need of money, Philadelphia is looking for you. Applications are being accepted for the fifth round of Call for Ideas, StartupPHL's grant program for young companies. Of special interest to funders this round are ideas on reducing poverty and using the open data sets published by the City of Philadelphia. About $100,000 in total grants will be awarded, ranging from $15,000 to $25,000, a Commerce Department spokeswoman said.
Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 13. Details are at www.startupphl.com. StartupPHL is a collaboration by the Commerce Department and the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp.
