Bloomingdale's, The Outlet Store, will open a 22,700-square-foot store in November on the second level of The Shops at Liberty Place, 1625 Chestnut Street.

Macy's Inc., the corporate parent of Bloomingdale's, announced the store opening late Wednesday. It will be the first Bloomingdale's outlet store in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and the 16th in the country. It joins Bloomingdale's department stores at King of Prussia Mall and Willow Grove Mall.

The Shops at Liberty Place space was formerly occupied by Warner Bros. studio store and later a Christopher's Men's.

The Bloomingdale's Outlet Store will sell a range of discounted apparel and accessories, for men, women and children and for the home.

"We see Bloomingdale's Outlet as a growth vehicle for our company as we continue to refine and roll out stores based on our learnings over the past several years," Tony Spring, chairman and chief executive officer of Bloomingdale's, said in a statement. "This is a great opportunity to expand the reach of our brand to value-conscious shoppers, as well as better serve the expansive needs of our customers."

The Bloomingdale's Outlet concept was first introduced in 2010. In addition to the Philadelphia store, Bloomingdale's Outlet Stores will open in the fall in New York City's Upper West Side and in San Diego.
