Jimmy Rollins may be a memory for Phillies fans (along with a winning season), but he still has ties to the area through a South Jersey property he purchased in 2005. Even though he left the team in 2014 and has since been a Dodger, a White Sox and baseball commentator, let's ogle his property with all the gusto normally reserved for hometown athletes.
The five-bedroom Swedesboro property includes nearly 5,300 square feet of living space and is set on a plot of more than 2.5 acres. The home is situated at the end of a private cul-de-sac, perfect for a fan favorite who occasionally needed a break from his adoring public.
The meticulously landscaped grounds include exactly the kind of in-ground pool and hot tub you would expect from a three-time all-star, four-time Gold Glove winner, and a National League MVP. The pool features a waterfall and grotto, as well as an adjacent hot tub. The patio nearby has an outdoor kitchen just off the large, wrap-around deck.
Inside, the home boasts a two-story foyer (with proper marble floors) and a similarly grand family room with two-story-tall windows. The eat-in-kitchen comes with the standard-issue luxury items: custom 42-inch cabinetry, granite counters, stainless appliances and a big, ol' island. We are really into the dining room light fixture.
It's impossible not to imagine J-Roll swanning around the enormous en-suite bathroom in the vast first-floor master. Seeing that he had televisions installed over the soaking tub (as well as in just about every other room of the home) makes us love and miss him even more.
Of course the property also includes a large – and television bedecked – gym, complete with a wall of mirrors. The lower level also has a game room and a poker room. If you're a multimillionaire, you may also stash a few of your whips in the oversized garage with a lift.
