Aon insurance unit to move into new Fort Washington business park offices

Aon PLC, a London-based professional-services conglomerate, plans to move the regional headquarters of one of its insurance operations into a 77,000-square-foot space at the Fort Washington Office Park, commercial real estate firm JLL said Monday.

Aon Affinity, which provides insurance packages for affinity organizations, is moving to the new space at 1100 Virginia Dr. on a 12-year lease starting in October, according to Mike MacCrory, a senior vice president at JLL, which is handling leasing for the 660,000-square-foot property.

The Aon unit, which is relocating from Warminster, will occupy part of a 227,000-square-foot section of the former industrial building that's being newly renovated, MacCrory said.

Following the insurance unit's occupancy, about 150,000 square feet of leasable space will remain at the building, which is owned by Lower Gwynedd-based Somerset Properties, according to JLL.

The property, which is being called the Fort Washington Technology Center, is the largest multi-tenant office building in the Philadelphia suburbs, JLL said.
