Business People on the Move: Vanguard hires general counsel and managing director

The investment management company Vanguard, Valley Forge, has hired Anne E. Robinson as general counsel and managing director of its legal and compliance division. She had been managing director and general counsel, global cards and consumer services, at Citi.

The investment management company Vanguard, Valley Forge, has hired Anne E. Robinson as general counsel and managing director of its legal and compliance division. She had been managing director and general counsel, global cards and consumer services, at Citi.

Tandigm Health, a West Conshohocken start-up designed to help primary-care doctors manage costs and improve care in Southeastern Pennsylvania, has hired Patrick Adams as president and chief operating officer. He had been president of Transcend L.L.C. and vice president of provider development at Humana.

Iroko Pharmaceuticals L.L.C., a specialty pharmaceutical company based at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, has hired Louis J. Vollmer as president and CEO. He began his career at DuPont Merck, ultimately serving as vice president of sales and marketing for DuPont Multi Source Products, with responsibility for more than 12 branded products. He then played a role as one of three founding partners and management team leaders of Endo Pharmaceuticals.

Robbin Smart has been named executive director of Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia, which operates programs that aim to place inner-city middle-school students on a path to college. It also recruits and trains the next generation of teachers during an annual Teaching Fellow internship program. It provides six years of tuition-free academic enrichment for middle schoolers taught exclusively by college students with an interest in education.

Villanova University has named Joyce E.A. Russell as the Helen and William O'Toole dean of the Villanova School of Business effective Aug. 1. Russell serves as senior associate dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland at College Park.

The specialty investment banking and mortgage banking firm Lancaster Pollard, Philadelphia, has hired bankers Miles Kingston and Tony Ruberg as vice presidents in its Philadelphia office. Both will focus on seniors, housing, and health-care clients. Kingston will be responsible for clients in Pennsylvania and Ruberg for clients in New Jersey and Delaware. Kingston was a commercial loan officer and assistant vice president of health-care lending at Metro Bank in Harrisburg. Ruberg had been associate director in the commodities hedging and risk management division of Huntington National Bank.

Lincoln Financial Group has hired Alok Benjwal as vice president, consumer and marketing analytics, insurance and retirement solutions. Benjwal had been vice president, head of cross-channel analytics with JPMorgan.

Delaware Valley Advisors, a Huntingdon Valley financial services firm affiliated with Securian Financial Services, has named Peter M. Monahan Jr. managing partner. He succeeds John Kneib, the firm's cofounder and leader for the last 25 years. Kneib will continue with the firm as an adviser. Monahan had been managing sales director with Creative Financial Group in Newtown Square.

Alliant, a Newport Beach, Calif., provider of targeted insurance, risk management, and consulting services, has named Frank Arcara as vice president with the company's Alliant Americas division in King of Prussia.

Henkels & McCoy Inc., a Blue Bell utility construction firm providing infrastructure for the power, communications, oil and gas pipeline, and gas-distribution markets throughout North America, has promoted Bryan Ellis, Ryan Crull, and Daniel Ashmore to vice presidents of power in the East, Central, and West regions, respectively. Each had been director of power operations of their respective regions.

Emma Graber has been hired as program coordinator of the Philadelphia Real Estate Council, Cornell Real Estate Council, and the Llenrock Group. She had been executive assistant at Keller Williams.

Wistar Institute, a West Philadelphia nonprofit specializing in basic biomedical research with a focus on cancer and vaccines, has hired Jeff Fahnoe as chief information officer. He had been senior director of operations and planning of the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Recro Pharma Inc., a Malvern specialty pharmaceutical company developing multiple non-opioid therapeutics, has hired Michael Celano as chief financial officer. He had been CFO at Kensey Nash.

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has named Mindy George-Weinstein as chief research and science officer. George-Weinstein will oversee the division of research, which provides operational support, resources, intramural funding, and development for research activity across all functional areas for the Philadelphia and Georgia campuses. A longtime faculty member at PCOM, she had been a professor of biomedical sciences at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

The MEMIC Group, West Conshohocken, has hired Gus Gonnella as vice president of claims for the Atlantic and Northeast regions. He had been vice president of workers' compensation claims at XL Catlin.

Olga Timofeeva has been appointed associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, director of molecular pathology and associate director of the immunogenetics laboratory at Temple University Hospital, and associate director of the Immunogenetics Laboratory at Temple University Hospital. Timofeeva had been an assistant professor of oncology at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Donna Crilley Farrell has been named vice president of corporate communications at Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia. She recently served as executive director of the World Meeting of Families and prior to that had been manager of external affairs for Independence.

Peter Miller has been named provost and vice president of academic affairs at University of the Sciences. Miller had returned to USciences as interim provost in March. He continues to hold the rank of associate professor of physical therapy. He had been associate provost for academic affairs at Thomas Jefferson University.

Navigate, a management consulting firm with offices in Wayne and Philadelphia, has hired Michelle Grant and Brian Lovecchio as senior managers. Grant had been program manager for the Office of Business Integrity at Teva Pharmaceuticals and Lovecchio assistant vice president of the commercial strategy and implementation team at Capitol One in McLean, Va.

Marlin Business Services Corp., Mount Laurel, has promoted Edward J. Siciliano to chief operating officer from chief sales officer. He had been chief sales officer and served as interim CEO from October 2015 until last month.

Buchanan Public Relations, Philadelphia, has hired Lesley Amy as an account coordinator. She had interned for the firm and for the Philadelphia Eagles in its corporate service department.

Suzanne Mulrain has promoted to director of healthcare collaborative at Seabrook House, a Seabrook, N.J. a nonprofit private provider of CARF-accredited behavioral healthcare organization, with treatment locations in Bridgeton, Cherry Hill, Northfield and Morristown.  Mulrain joined Seabrook as director of special projects. She created and continues to lead a team of Addiction Medicine Specialists that connect with healthcare professionals in the area.

G&W Laboratories, South Plainfield, has hired Jay Galeota as president and chief operating officer. Galeota joins G&W following a 28-year career at Merck, where he was most recently chief strategy & business development officer and president, emerging businesses. &W's current President, Kurt Orlofski, will assume the newly-created role of president of generics.

PPG , a Pittsburgh maker of paint and coatings, has appointed Jeff Oravitz vice president of PPG coatings services and president of PPG-MetoKot, following the July 6 acquisition of MetoKote. Oravitz had been CEO of MetoKote, which applies coatings to customers' manufactured parts and assembled products.
