Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City violated U.S. Bank Secrecy Act regulations on reporting and record-keeping of certain financial transactions from 2010 through 2012, according to a Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. bankruptcy filing.
For example, Trump failed to monitor and report when patrons inserted more than $10,000 a day into slot machines, the consent agreement included in the filing said.
Trump was given a $10 million civil penalty, but the federal government won't get that amount. Instead it will get a general unsecured claim in Trump's bankruptcy, pending bankruptcy court approval.
