Comcast upgrades Internet speed

Comcast Corp. has upgraded the Internet in Philadelphia to its fastest speed - 50 megabits per second, the company said today.

The cable giant, which is competing with Verizon Communications Inc. for Internet customers, says its fastest Internet speeds are now accessible to 25 million homes in the United States, or about half of its cable franchise area. - Bob Fernandez
