District Judge Kauffman to step down, join law firm

The Elliott Greenleaf law firm has announced that U.S. District Court Judge Bruce Kauffman will join the firm and co-chair its executive committee.

Kauffman will step down as a federal judge next Monday, and join the firm the following day.

The firm said Kauffman's long experience with white-collar defense issues, corporate internal investigations, and mediation of complex financial and business disputes would bolster its practice.

Kauffman, state Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice, was sworn in for the District Court seat in January 1998. He was senior partner and chairman of the Center City firm of Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish & Kauffman. - Chris Mondics
