AstraZeneca names new U.S. chief

AstraZeneca PLC said today that Rich Fante has been appointed president of the company's U.S. business.

AstraZeneca PLC said today that Rich Fante has been appointed president of the company's U.S. business.

He takes over from Tony Zook, whose role was expanded after he was recently named president of MedImmune, the wholly owned biologics business for AstraZeneca PLC. Zook is CEO of AstraZeneca North America and head of global marketing.

London-based AstraZeneca has U.S. headquarters in Wilmington.

Fante had served as the company's vice president of brand strategy and portfolio operations.

American depositary shares of AstraZeneca were trading at $41.08, down $0.47 (1.13 percent), on the New York Stock Exchange.
