DuPont to boost polymer production worldwide

Dupont will invest $150 million to expand and upgrade manufacturing plants in the United States, Europe and Asia to meet demand for specialty polymers, the company said today.

The polymers - chemical compounds - are used in the automotive, packaging and solar cell markets, and for infrastructure in emerging economies.

The investment will increase production by 200 million pounds, the Wilmington chemical company said.
