General Machine Products Co. of Trevose has been acquired by Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Klein Tools, the company has announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GMP and its 130 employees will fall under a new corporate entity of Klein Tools, General Machine Products LLC, and will continue to operate from its Bucks County facilities. There are no planned layoffs. A GMP subsidiary and facility in the United Kingdom, CBS Products, also was acquired.

"GMP is very appealing to Klein Tools as we continue to expand our U.S. manufacturing presence," Thomas R. Klein Sr., Klein's chairman, said in a release. "GMP and Klein Tools have much in common, including loyal customers, go-to-market strategies, and reputations for high-quality products. We believe our combined resources will present additional growth opportunities, and we're excited to welcome GMP to the Klein Tools family."

Klein Tools also has manufacturing facilities in Mansfield, Texas; Elk Grove Village, Ill.; Fort Smith, Ark.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Bolivar, N.Y.
