Bio-Imaging quarterly profit up 30%

Bio-Imaging Technologies Inc., of Newtown, said today its net income rose 30 percent to $797,000 in the fourth quarter from $613,000 in the same period a year earlier.

For the full year, net income was $2.3 million, or 18 cents a share, compared to $1 million, or 8 cents a share, in 2006.

Revenue for the fourth quarter increased to $12.7 million, from $10.6 million in the period a year ago. Revenue for 2007 was $47.9 million, up from $40.5 million in 2006.

Bio-Imaging provides product development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical-device industries. Shares were up 15 cents, or 2 percent, to $7.50 on the Nasdaq this morning.
